Leaked Data Shows GTA Online Makes $9.6M Per Week — And PC Players Barely Spend
Fresh leak reveals GTA Online generated $9.6 million per week from September 2025 to April 2026, with PlayStation dominating at $5.5M compared to just $264K from PC — explaining Rockstar's hesitation with GTA 6's PC port.
Hacker group ShinyHunters released data stolen from Rockstar Games via a third-party service, and while Rockstar called it "a limited amount of non-material company information," the numbers reveal just how dominant GTA Online remains. According to the leak, verified by Kotaku, GTA Online made $9,592,109 per week across the September 2025 to April 2026 period — equating to roughly $1.3 million per day.
The breakdown by platform is striking. PlayStation accounted for the vast majority: PS5 players contributed $4,486,346 and PS4 players added $973,308 per week — together totaling over $5.4 million. Xbox Series X and Xbox One players contributed $2,786,320. PC players? Just $264,273 per week. That's less than 3% of the weekly total, despite GTA V's strong Steam presence and active modding community.
Rockstar has released GTA 6 for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on November 19, 2026, with no confirmed PC release date. These leaked figures offer a clear financial explanation: Rockstar's revenue is overwhelmingly console-driven, and the massive investment required for a quality PC port may not yield proportional returns. PC players have historically waited longer for Rockstar titles, and this data suggests why the studio has little incentive to rush.
