Take-Two CEO Says GTA 6 Has Been Demoed for Him, Calls Trailer 'Amazing'
Strauss Zelnick told GameFile that he is not a video game player, but has "everything demoed" for him — including GTA 6 — while also clarifying that his L.A. Noire comments were not an announcement.
Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick has offered a small but notable clarification on how closely he has seen Grand Theft Auto 6 ahead of release. In a GameFile interview summarized by RockstarINTEL, Zelnick said he is "not a video game player" when asked whether he had personally played GTA 6 in 2026.
Pressed further by journalist Stephen Totilo, Zelnick said he has "everything demoed" for him. In other words, while he may not be playing GTA 6 himself, the Take-Two boss has seen the game demonstrated internally by employees.
When asked how GTA 6 is looking after those demos, Zelnick pointed back to the public trailer, calling it "amazing" and saying he would "leave it at that." The comment does not reveal new gameplay footage, but it does confirm the CEO has viewed GTA 6 in action beyond simply following public announcements.
The same interview also cleaned up a separate fan theory. Zelnick had recently mentioned L.A. Noire while discussing Take-Two's franchises, which led some fans to treat it as a hint toward a sequel or revival. According to RockstarINTEL, Zelnick told Totilo that the comment "was misunderstood as an announcement" and added, "I was not doing that."
That makes this update distinct from earlier stories about GTA 6 pricing, the PC release window and the summer marketing campaign. The new information is not a trailer date or a feature reveal; it is a direct executive clarification: Zelnick has seen GTA 6 demoed internally, and his L.A. Noire remarks should not be read as a new project announcement.
GTA 6 is still officially scheduled to launch for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026. Rockstar has not announced a PC version for day one, nor has it dated the next trailer or a public gameplay showcase.
