GTA Online Officially Confirms The End Of An Era

Rockstar Games has officially confirmed that GTA Online's iconic 420 event is running for the final time, marking the beginning of the end for the current iteration of GTA Online as GTA 6 approaches its November 2026 release.

Part 1

Rockstar Games has officially confirmed that the final edition of the beloved 420 event is now live in GTA Online, running through April 29. This marks a significant moment for the gaming community as the event, one of the most iconic in GTA Online's history, will disappear forever after this run — ahead of the highly anticipated GTA 6 release.

Part 2

The 420 event brings with it a host of time-limited rewards, including a new Hunting Pack (Get Lamar) location dispensing 4X Rewards, and the bizarre new Stoner Survival mode described by Rockstar as: 'Fight off aliens, life-sized action figures, wrench-wielding clowns, and Cluckin' Bell-uniformed chickens in the colorful chaos of Stoner Survival.' Players who complete five waves of Stoner Survival before April 22 will earn the Sasquatch Outfit and GTA$420,000 as a Weekly Challenge completion.

Part 3

GTA Online has had an extraordinary run spanning over a decade, generating billions of dollars in revenue for Rockstar Games and providing players with hundreds of hours of memorable multiplayer experiences. With GTA 6 officially set to release on November 19, 2026 — less than seven months away — this final 420 event represents the closing chapter of an era. Looking ahead, fans can expect GTA 6 Online to feature similar events and content drops, though Rockstar has yet to reveal specific details about the multiplayer mode's launch roadmap.
