Fresh leaks suggest Rockstar Games has no plans to release a PC version of GTA 6 in 2026. Sales data from GTA: Online shows PC generates significantly less revenue than console versions, explaining why PC players may have to wait until 2027 for the port.
Part 1
Grand Theft Auto VI is launching on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S this November, but where does that leave PC players? The infamous GTA VI PC port has been a hot topic amongst the community as Rockstar Games is yet to officially acknowledge it.
Part 2
Ex-Rockstar Games developers have confirmed a PC port is definitely in the works but it won't be dropping until 2027. The latest data, shared via CharlieIntel, supports this as sales figures for GTA: Online show a stark contrast between the console versions of the game and the PC version. PlayStation 5 takes the lead with the most overall players and in turn the highest income, followed by the PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and finally PC. That's right, the Xbox One has more players playing GTA: Online than PC does.
Part 3
Many argued upon the game's official reveal that PlayStation, Xbox and PC players should all be able to play the game together from day one but looking at the figures it makes sense why Rockstar would prefer the console versions — they make more money. When the PC port eventually does launch, many players are anticipating broken servers, irritating bugs and performance issues before patches iron out the big problems.
