GTA 6 Announcement Coming in April 2026? Rockstar's Unusual GTA Online Roadmap Sparks Speculation
Speculation about GTA 6 is growing after Rockstar Games released a roadmap for GTA Online covering events until April 1, 2026, with an unusual gap afterward. Dataminers also spotted new GTA 6 title identifiers in the PlayStation database, fueling fan theories about an April 2026 announcement.
Key update
Speculation about the long-awaited Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) is gaining momentum again after Rockstar Games made an unusual change to its update pattern for GTA Online. The gaming studio, known for its carefully planned announcements, recently released a roadmap that covers events and bonuses until April 1, 2026—but it leaves a noticeable gap afterwards. This unexpected pause has caught the attention of fans, data trackers and gaming insiders who closely monitor Rockstar's activities.
Why it matters
For years, Rockstar Games maintained a predictable weekly schedule for GTA Online updates every Thursday. However, the latest roadmap breaks that pattern by combining several weeks of updates into one schedule that runs until early April, creating a three-week communication gap. Fans believe the pause might indicate Rockstar is preparing to shift the spotlight toward its next major project.
What to watch
At the same time, dataminers discovered new title identifiers linked to GTA 6 appearing briefly in the PlayStation database. These identifiers were reportedly removed soon after — activity that often occurs when publishers prepare backend systems for future releases or pre-order listings. Industry observers note that similar database updates have occurred before major game launches, fueling speculation that Rockstar may be preparing its marketing strategy for the next phase of GTA 6 promotion.
