FAQ: GTA V Is Leaving Game Pass Again and the Timing Is No Coincidence

When is GTA V leaving Xbox Game Pass?

GTA V leaves Xbox Game Pass on April 15, 2026. Both the Enhanced and Legacy editions are being removed across Console, Cloud, and PC.

Will I lose my GTA V progress if it leaves Game Pass?

Your save data and GTA Online progress are tied to your Rockstar Social Club account, not Game Pass. If you purchase the game, your progress carries over.

Is this related to GTA 6 launching in November 2026?

The timing strongly suggests it is strategic. Rockstar is clearing the runway for GTA 6 by removing GTA V from free-access subscription services seven months before the new game's launch.

Can I still play GTA Online after GTA V leaves Game Pass?

Only if you own GTA V outright. If Game Pass is your only access to the game, both GTA V and GTA Online will be unavailable after April 15.
